Welcome to another yearly recap!

2022 was my first full year of business since my rebrand to Adventure for Love. My heart is so full as I reflect on another year of capturing couples elopements!

This year held many exciting things. I mainly got to shoot in Yosemite National Park, which is a dream come true for me. This park is truly one of my favorite places in the whole world, and I will continue to shoot there as often as possible.

I also knocked off a couple new national parks this year, most notably Glacier National Park where I am pictured here!

This year I took on my most challenging and most rewarding elopement to date. One of these couples entrusted me with a multi day backpacking elopement in Yosemite, to a spot I found through my research, and had never seen a couple elope there before. I was so nervous leading up to it, but the multi day adventure aspect completely captured my heart and made me excited for future possibilities!

In 2023…

I am taking my passion with Adventure for Love to many incredible locations, including a good portion of my year being in the one and only Alaska!

Alaska has escaped me for years now, with something always getting in my path and taking me from that opportunity. 2023 feels like the perfect time to expand new horizons! I have years of research I have done on Alaska and am bursting with elopement photoshoot ideas. If you are interested in working with me in 2023, click this link to see my current travel itinerary!

I hope to work with you in the new year, but for now enjoy the recap!

  1. Kyla & Cory

Starting off this blog with the very last wedding I shot in Ohio, the state where I originally reside from. This venue (Jorgensen Oak Grove) is one of my favorite venues in the Columbus area, and I highly recommend it to any Midwestern couples!

2. Patrycja & Kylee

You'll be seeing these two a couple times in this blog! I first met them in Mesa, Arizona for their in home engagement session. Creatively, this is one of my favorite sessions of the year, one of the few times I shoot indoors! Click here to see their full blog.

LGBT Friendly Phoenix Photographer

3. Philip & Olivia

Philip & Olivia and I made reservations for this park in the Pheonix area (which was required to shoot here). This spot on the lake mixed with the distant view of mountains, saguaros, and golden desert light, created the most perfect landscape for this photoshoot.

4. Jess & Parker

Celebrating the one year anniversary of their Colorado elopement (which you van view here!), these two decided to have a small vow renewal for their family and friends. This day was especially low temps in Colorado, but we still went outside on the bridge for a few portraits in the cold.

5. Rachel & Jarod

These two had a beautiful spring elopement in Colorado, that ended up looking quite wintery! Showcasing just how long the cold conditions last when you're above 9,000 elevation.

We talked through several elopement locations and landed on this one, where they had a small ceremony with their family, and hiked up the rest of the trail with me. Fun fact, we lost the trail on the way down, and ended up trudging through waist deep snow!

6. Kate & Nate

Bringing in spring elopement season with this gorgeous wedding in Big Sur, California. The trail down Ragged Point brought us to this perfect vista of the west coast golden light hitting the hills, it was a perfect day and this magical moment was my favorite image from their day.

Big Sur Elopement Photographer

7. Sheena & Daniel

This was one of my favorite sessions from the year, sunrise in the valley never felt so calm. This was Sheena & Daniel's first time in Yosemite, and we got lucky enough to be greeted by a deer in the meadows right as morning was beginning.

8. Ashley & Kyle

More beautiful California sunsets, this time up north of Big Sur closer to Monterey. I had a great time exploring Monterey for the first time this year, this area has so much to offer and I am so glad I got to shoot here! I can't wait to work with these two again for their wedding in Texas this upcoming spring.

West Coast Engagement Photographer

9. Maddie & Jacque

So much planning went into these two's wedding! We first met in Aspen last year for their gorgeous sunrise engagement session in the Maroon Bells. This year, they had two weddings! Here is a photo from the first at a winery in the Bay area.

10. Kristyn & Cody

Hands down, this is one of my favorite elopements I've ever shot, and pushed my planning and outdoor abilities so much. We did a multi day backpacking trip in Yosemite, to a ceremony spot I had never seen photographed before. It took so much planning, and a lot of pounds in my backpack while I sent it up the Mist Trail with my clients.

Highly recommend this blog, click here!

11. Courtney & Dani

I could seriously shoot in Yosemite forever. I got to explore a new side of the Sequoia's in Yosemite with these two on their elopement day. The big trees, the hats, the matching denim jackets, everything about this set I love!

12. Maddie & Jacque

These two beauties again! I love getting to shoot with my couples again after their wedding. They had a traditional Indian wedding reception a month after their original wedding. I love Maddie's colors and the experience of this day so much!

13. Blessy & Colin

Explored another new area of California, this time Lake Arrowhead! The drive up the mountains was especially beautiful, and I love the way the light cam into this field right as we were beginning our hike.

Lake Arrowhead Engagement Photographer

14. Nicole & Ryan

Double booked wedding in Lake Arrowhead! I met Nicole and Ryan at this adorable venue the next day, and this year I loved focusing on reflection shots, with this one likely being my favorite from the year!

15. Chelsea & Mitchell

I don't normally prefer landscape photos over portrait orientation, but something about this crop, the cozy feeling between these two as they rest in each others arms through the rain, everything about the feeling of this photo makes me love it.

I cannot wait for these two's elopement in Colorado next year.

16. Sarah & Nate

Ah, elopements in Moab. Moab is where I spend most of my time residing, and this elopement I got to explore what is really possible with my clients. We started the night before with a hike in Arches National Park to see their ceremony spot, and catch some star photos before an early wake up time the next morning. This is hands down one of my favorite star photos I have ever taken. View Sarah & Nate's full blog here!

17. Patrycja & Kylee

Back to these two lovely humans! This was all three of our first time in Glacier National Park, and wow did it not dissapoint. It's hard to beat the sunsets on Logan Pass, this photo brought together the vision of exactly what I imagined this day to feel like. Click here to see Patrycja & Kylee's blog!

Glacier National Park Elopement Photographer

18. Allee & Isaak

I tried so hard to push myself creatively on this wedding weekend, and it gave me one of my favorite shots from the year. I love prism work, and I don't use it as much as I should because I'm never sure how much value it adds to my clients. But especially after this photo, I will be breaking out the prisms and testing my creativity so much more.

California Elopement Photographer

19. Francesca & Luis

I can't even begin to tell you all what a perfect elopement day this was! This is the only blog from 2022 that I have not gotten to yet, so you will just have to wait a little longer for these two's full story, including the most perfect coastal Airbnb, Redwoods ceremony location, and epic sunset spot.

Humboltd Elopement Photographer

20. Brittany & Filiberto

My last Yosemite elopement of the year. I am so lucky to get to work in this park so often, but this is one of the only times I have been to Tunnel View for sunset. The alpenglow on the valley is incredible, and this location always offers amazing views no matter what time of day.

21. Juliana & Raymond

Back to the beautiful red rocks of the wild west! Juliana & Raymond eloped in Sedona. I think when the day came around we landed on option C for their wedding day, we considered and plans so many options before finally landing on this plan with their ceremony at Cathedral Rock!

Sedona Elopement Photographer

22. Lauren & Amanda

You all know I mainly reside and photograph in the western United States. However, when Lauren and Amanda reached out to me and told me their vision for their day, I knew I had to fly to Virginia to capture their story (in one of my dream venues no less!)

This photo captures the warm essence of their greenhouse wedding day, and their soft sweet love for each other.

LGBT Friendly Elopement Photographer

23. Bill & Traci

Ending the blog back in Moab, Utah on Thanksgiving morning. Bill and Traci and I schemed up a styled shoot I had to include in this blog, to showcase one of my favorite canyoneering routes in Moab you can choose for your elopement day, even when it's cold outside!

I wanted to say a special thank you to all my clients in 2022. I received so much support after an incredibly difficult year before. My clients trusted me not just as their photographer, but as their friend. I am so lucky to have the job I have, it makes me tear up just thinking about it. I talk all the time about how I have the best job in the world, and my clients make that possible.

I am looking forward to the future of my business, and the growth of my passion to continue. Thank you all for your support, you are not just supporting a business, you are supporting a person and you all have made my life possible.

Thank you.
