California Dreamin'

7 months ago I was sitting in Ohio listening to California Dreaming by The Mamas & The Papas almost every day. 2020 was not what any of us expected, and I had grown very tired of being stuck in the same state due to the pandemic. I was ready to be in California again!

We left the day after Christmas in our van, and headed for the coast. After a few months of adventuring in Arizona, Utah, & Colorado, we started our spring wedding season in California. I have fallen in love with Spring in California! The weather is perfect, the people are excited to be getting outside again, and couples are stoked on getting married.

We worked so much over the spring, I wanted to do a recap blog to show you all a peak into what our lives have looked like these past couple months. In many ways, this is truly what I've always dreamed of. When I first visited California at 17 years old, I randomly met a photographer on the beach and told her that someday I wanted to live here part time and shoot weddings and elopements. She told me I would, and 4 years later I am doing exactly that.

Thank you to all our clients for trusting us with your amazing wedding days, we can't wait to be back!

2. Melissa & Frank

These two got married on private property near Visalia, California. Rarely do we go to this area, so coming here to shoot this wedding allowed us to do something really cool the next day!

3. Sequoia National Park

Sequoia! The biggest trees in the world were so close to where we shot the wedding the day before, we had to make a quick stop for sunrise in the national park we got married at. Although this isn't a photo from a wedding, it deserved it's own shout out!

4. Vanessa & Raelene

After a long drive from Sequoia in the morning, to Joshua Tree in the afternoon, I got to meet Vanessa and Raelene for their shoot. These two are now engaged and planning a wedding, congrats you two!

6. Josh & Whitney

Whitney's family owns the most incredible land in Livermore, California. It's been passed down generations starting in the 1930's, they chose to get married on a small piece of that land.

10. Ashley & Blaine

There is the most incredible venue called Nestldown in the Bay, it features a huge grove of Redwoods you can get married in! One of my favorite venue's I have ever shot at for sure. Here's a photo of their kiss as they were leaving the ceremony!

11. Cheyenne & Cory

These two were nervous that the moody sunset weather would make the photos turn out bad, & I was so excited to prove them wrong! Moody weather is nothing to be afraid of, we had an incredible engagement session with them on the beach, they killed it with or without golden light!

13. Rebekah & Domingo

These two contacted me a couple months ago about renewing their vows in Yosemite with their son as their own witness. Originally we planned for the meadows, but Glacier Point Rd ended up opening a couple days before their vow renewal! This is what Rebekah envisioned all along, so we changed plan and it was the most perfect morning. Blog coming soon!

Back to these two for their wedding! These two smiling faces had the cutest camping inspired wedding on private property in Half Moon Bay. Their day was magic beyond belief, and I love their joy captured in this moment!

Last but not least, Mason & Kayla got married at a private airplane hanger on the most beautiful property with it's own vineyard! Vineyard weddings feel very classically California, and I'm excited to shoot more in the future!
