Here's what Bianca said in her inquiry:
“We'd love to capture the Moab landscape bathed in that magical orange sun glow during sunrise and/or sunset, with pink and purple skies reflecting on the terracotta rocks. We want the photos to feel ethereal and dreamlike, almost like a painting. We saw some pictures on your Instagram that beautifully captured the sky the way we envisioned.”
When I first read Bianca's email, I was so excited to talk ideas with this couple! Already in the beautiful verbiage she used to describe their wedding, I knew her vision was crystal clear. She also had an inspiration board she sent me off the bat, and I recognized most the locations I saw. We scheduled a zoom call, and I was ecstatic to share all my ideas with them! They chose a package, and we were booked for September :)
We came up with an EPIC plan!
One of the things I offer that is highly unusual for most photographers, is I allow my couples to split up their coverage between multiple days. This is important to me for a few reasons. First, long continuous coverage over 8-12 hours, can be exhausting on a wedding day. There's so much going on already, I think the slow down time is important, and I don't want you to have to to pay for my coverage to be continuing while you take a break, or push yourselves too hard and have a less enjoyable experience.
Second, in the desert, temperatures are often too hot mid day. They just are! It could add to the exhaustion by pushing ourselves through an afternoon where you'd rather be leisurely getting ready or spending time with your family.
Last, and probably the most important reason to me, lighting is best at sunrise or sunset. If you want a 6 hour package, I would much rather do three hours for a sunrise, then three hours for a sunset later, than miss those lighting opportunities to do something in the heat of mid day instead.
With Bianca and Ray having split their coverage between two days, we were able to hike to Delicate Arch for sunset one night, go stargazing after, and do a sunset ceremony the next day with their family! NOTHING was missed, we had incredible experiences that prioritized the best light and made their photos look like a painting, just they want they wanted it.
Congratulations you two, I am absolutely in love with how your gallery turned out!
