Ai Ling & Arthas | Yosemite National Park Anniversary Session

I received an inquiry from Ai Ling just a week after we had left Yosemite, it was fresh on my mind, and I was already thinking about going back. Ai Ling & Arthas are from Sinapore, and like me, they have huge hearts for travel. They were going on an awesome road trip through the western United States, visiting several of our best national parks! They wanted a session in Yosemite, and Taft Point especially caught Ai Ling’s eye.

She wanted a huge print in their living room of them at Taft Point in Yosemite. We talked about all my favorite parts of the park, and mapped an awesome day where I could show them around and document their experience! We started at Yosemite Falls, which I say is a must see for anyone’s first time in Yosemite. Did you know Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in North America?! It’s magnificent in person.

The falls had lots of tourists as I expected, so I was very excited about our next spot. We drove up the mountains and took a hike near Glacier Point where we barely saw any people, but we did run into a Yosemite deer! This was a special experience for these two, as they’d only see deer in zoos before.

Finally, we ended our day at the place they were most looking forward to, Taft Point. We witnessed a perfect golden hour from way above the mountains, and admired the shadows in the valley below. I had such a great time with these two talking about our cultures, sharing snacks, and hearing so much great traveling advice from them to help our upcoming trip to Asia! I picked a song they showed me during our car ride from the artist Calum Scott. The lyrics really stood out to me as a perfect descriptor of their relationship, and this adventure.
